Welcome to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School. We are set deep in the Warrumbungle Shire on the Northwest Slopes and Plains of New South Wales. Just under 5 hours from Sydney by car, we are an integral part of the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst. Coolah is a quiet community, but with many great facilities. The town has a pool, sporting facilities (including tennis, golf, bowls, footy, netball, rodeo) and we are close to the larger centres of Coonabarabran, Mudgee and Dubbo for all the other necessities in life. Coolah has a hospital, resident doctors, pharmacy, an IGA and a hardware store, so there is really no need to travel away for anything. It gets a little chilly here in the winter, however, the summertime can be a tad on the warm side, which means Autumn and Spring are perfect. Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School has been in existence since 1921 in the current location and has formed part of many children's education across the years. Currently, we have 25 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 who are supported by 11 staff, including 6 teachers, 1 education assistant, a school secretary, cleaner and groundsperson. We partner with former Griffith University lecturer, Dr Sarah McDonagh who supports our literacy programs. The school is supremely resourced with the latest technology in iPads and Chromebook computers. Our sports shed is bristling with the latest gear for tennis, golf, footy, t-ball, handball, basketball, netball and soccer and our play area is second to none. I could go on a while longer about all the amazing things we have and do at Sacred Heart, but please come and visit us to see for yourself how great country Catholic schooling can be.
