Principal's Message
As we approach the end of this term, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for all that you have achieved. As we enter the Easter season, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many blessings that we have received this year. To our students, I want to congratulate you on your outstanding effort and commitment to your studies. Your engagement and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring, and I am confident that you will continue to excel in your academic pursuits.
To our parents, I want to extend my deepest appreciation for your ongoing support and partnership with our school. Your involvement in your child's education has been invaluable, and we are grateful for the trust you have placed in us.
And to our staff, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your expertise, passion, and dedication to our school community. Your unwavering commitment to our mission has been integral to our success, and we could not have achieved what we have without you.
As we approach the break, I hope you all take some time to relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy some well-deserved time off. I am confident that we will continue to build on our successes and achieve great things together in the future.
This Easter, let us remember the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and how it reminds us of the power of hope and renewal. May this season bring us closer together as a community, and inspire us to continue working towards our goals with renewed vigor.
I wish you all a joyous and meaningful Easter, filled with love, hope, and gratitude.
God bless,
Kylie Scott
Holy Week
Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter Sunday, and it is one of the most important times of the year for Christians. It commemorates the final week of Jesus' life, from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to his crucifixion and resurrection.
The events of Holy Week are central to the Christian faith, and they serve as a reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. During this week, we reflect on Jesus' teachings and his example of love, humility, and selflessness. We also remember the events that led to his death and resurrection, and we celebrate the victory of life over death.
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, which commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. It is followed by Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, and Holy Wednesday, which are days of prayer, reflection, and preparation for the events to come.
Maundy Thursday marks the beginning of the Easter Triduum, the three days leading up to Easter Sunday. On this day, we remember the Last Supper and Jesus' commandment to love one another as he has loved us. We also reflect on Jesus' act of washing his disciples' feet, which symbolizes the importance of serving others.
Good Friday is the day on which we commemorate Jesus' crucifixion and death. It is a solemn and reflective day, and many Christians fast or abstain from meat as a sign of mourning. We reflect on Jesus' sacrifice and the meaning of his death, and we also consider our own role in the world and how we can follow in Jesus' footsteps.
Holy Week concludes with the celebration of Easter Sunday, which commemorates Jesus' resurrection from the dead. It is a day of great joy and celebration, as we remember that Jesus has triumphed over death and that new life is possible for all who believe in him.

News with Kindergarten
English
Kindergarten students have been working hard in their phonics lessons and I am so proud of their efforts, they know how to read and write lots of sounds as well as some high frequency words.
The purpose of phonics instruction is to.....
- Teach the systematic and predictable relationships between the sounds (phonemes) in words and the letters (graphemes) which represent them
- Build accurate and automatic decoding to provide the foundation skills for reading fluency and comprehension.
Throughout the term Kindergarten have engaged in many multisensory activities to increase their fine motor skills. They need these skills to write. These activities encourage good handwriting habits from the very start.

We have looked at lots of different books/poem and nursery rhymes in our literatures studies including but not limited to:
- Starting School by Jane Goodwin and Anna Walker
- Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell
- Aaaarrgghh Spider! l by Lydia Monks
- Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andrede
- Noni the Pony by Alison Lester
- Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley by Aaron Blabey
- Hickory Dickory Dock
- Humpty Dumpty
- Mary Had Little Lamb
Mathematics
Kindergarten students have been learning about:-
2D shapes: Sorting, describing and naming familiar shapes
Area: Identifying and comparing area
Data: Responding to questions, collecting information and discussing possible outcomes of activities.
As well as 2D, Area & Data students have been counted, subitised and played games. The students have used activities to learn about numbers in their environment. An understanding of number sense creates a solid foundation for mathematical thinking.

Sport
In sport we have been learning and participating in Striking and Fielding Games.

Religion
Students have learnt about Holy Week and the events leading up to Easter. They have thoroughly enjoyed making their Easter hats for our hat parade.
