Term 3, 2023 Weeks 9-10
Principal's Message
It is hard to believe that we are at the end of Term 3!
Year 5 &6 attended Green Day Environmental Expo ran by Watershed Landcare Inc. last Thursday.
Our students had the opportunity to learn about various environmental topics and issues such as soil, water, biodiversity, sustainability and climate and how they can make changes to the way they live.
Now they are enjoying their time on the Sydney excursion with Mrs Kitchin. We cannot wait to hear all about it when they arrive back to Coolah.
This has been an incredibly busy term, full of learning and fun, and I know we are all, staff and students, looking forward to a well-earned Term 3 break. I would like to thank all of our families for their support this term and wish you a safe and restful break.
We look forward to welcoming students back for Term 4 on Monday, 9th October.
God Bless,
Kylie Scott

St Lawrence's Horse Sports
Sacred Heart was represented at the St Lawrence’s Horse Sports on the 7th and 8th September by Millie, Rex, Annabelle and Siennah. Millie rode her lovely pony Rosie; Rex was on his clever mount Missy; Annabelle rode her trusty stead Andy; and Siennah rode horseback on Bob.
Thursday saw the children competing in jumping, hack events, dressage, a Working Pattern event, Time Trials, the Stockman’s Challenge and walking the cross country course in preparation for competing in it on Friday. Rex and Annabelle had success in the hack events. Rex placed in every event and Annabelle was called into the ring more than once. Annabelle proved to be a fantastic coach for Siennah (and Mrs Pettet) in her first ever official dressage test. Annabelle’s advice for Siennah proved integral to their third placing in ‘Pair Of Riders.’ It was fantastic to witness Annabelle giving tips and words of encouragement to her friend. The dreaded BLUE TARP slowed everyone up in the Stockman’s Challenge, except for Annabelle and her horse Andy. Skilled riding and a lot of determination saw all the Sacred Heart students get their horse between and beyond the blue tarps.
Friday saw the Sacred Heart riders compete in several different sporting events, cross country, dual barrels and the Grand Parade. Millie picked up a number of ribbons, including in the Running Tee and the Cross Country. For Millie, the Cross Country was her favourite event and has already summoned her mother to create her a cross country course at home. Siennah and Bob made a great team in the sporting events. Bob let Siennah know that sporting is more his thing than ring events, with them both placing in most of the sporting events. Annabelle and Rex were particularly fast in the barrels. The day ended with the Grand Parade and the presentation of the Champion and Reserve Champion riders. To everyone’s delight, Rex took out the 9yr old Champion Boy Rider. Congratulations Rex!
Thank you to each parent who transported their child and their child’s horse to this two day event. Thank you also to the Sacred Heart riders. Each of you displayed exemplary sportsmanship. It was great to see you all taking care of your horse and taking pride in representing Sacred Heart.

School Performance
Last Friday we celebrated Father's Day with our students and their Dads with a delicious breakfast. Students also got to enjoy the morning playing football with their Dads and decorating tea towels.
Thank you to our P&F, they certainly out did themselves with a beautiful breakfast for our Dads.
Sacred Heart's school performance was nothing short of spectacular! Our students gave it their all, and their dedication and hard work truly shone through.
A big shoutout to Mrs Pettet who demonstrated her multifaceted talents by seamlessly integrating script writing, choreography, and technical setup to create a truly captivating performance. A big thank you also to our dedicated staff who did an outstanding job helping prepare our students for this fantastic evening. Well done Sacred Heart!!
